I don’t think there are many people who didn’t hear about Moonfest 2008 and the circumstances surrounding its cancellation. It made the News literally everywhere, National TV and newspapers, radio, every music web site you can imagine, it really was far reaching. To go into the why’s and wherefores revisiting very stony ground would now be counterproductive, suffice to say that a huge amount of suffering was felt by all in the Moonfest camp and indeed with the authorities as the negative PR was I believe very damaging to all concerned, not to mention the enormous financial loss to ourselves.

So, putting last years disaster behind us, I am happy to report that all Moonfest 2008 ticket holders have been repaid in full thanks to the generosity and hard work of so many people. The Moonfest benefit gig in January with Roger Daltrey and Peter Doherty who donated their services entirely free raised just enough to pay back the last few hundred people who bought tickets for Moonfest 2008.
So much against the advice of my accountant and psychiatrist I am happy to announce that we are doing Moonfest 2009! We have been liaising with the Police and licensing authorities and have been assured of their full support.

This year will be much more of a local type of event for one day but with some amazing acts. Justin Hawkins with his band HotLeg will be making a very spectacular entrance as the headlining act. Supporting them will be a mixture of bands both local and from far a field to suit all ages and tastes.

There will be two stages, both of them inside marquees in case the Bank Holiday weather turns wet on us. The larger of the two which we are calling the Moonfest Marquee will be where the louder and better known bands will play. The smaller stage inside the Eclectic Marquee will be very chilled out with an unplugged acoustic style to it.
Outside we are looking to get all sorts of entertainment, things that are really different and fun. World class and former champion model pilot Paul Heckles and his team will be giving a night time (yes I do mean night time) aerobatic demonstration with radio control model helicopters…. This really has to be seen to be believed. In addition world freestyle helicopter champion Dennis Kenyon will be appearing in his Enstrom helicopter to demonstrate that helicopters to fly upside down! Street entertainers, fire jugglers and magicians are also planned plus loads of other wild and whacky things.

I very much look forward to personally welcoming everyone to Moonfest 09 and making it the best party in Wiltshire…. Ever!

Best Regards
